One practice\u00a0I find helpful\u00a0is to\u00a0engage with family members to understand through their eyes who their loved one has been over the time of his or her life. I strive to recognize and honor that personal history and meet whatever challenges and specific needs may arise.<\/h4>\n

Caregiving and helping with ordinary tasks becomes an opportunity to connect with your loved one and to find the qualities that can still be accentuated in a positive way.<\/h4>\n

When\u00a0engaging\u00a0in conversation about some positive life experiences\u00a0and asking\u00a0follow-up questions to\u00a0learn\u00a0of your loved one’s\u00a0interests and current concerns, they show confidence and it becomes a very uplifting experience. These are just a few ways I can help your loved one cope with the aging process.<\/h4>\n
